Flash Animation
Flash is an animation program which allowed you to create animations with vector images. This program allows animators to create "tweens" which animate the image they are working with. Flash animations is used often for internet banners, television shows, and a lot of other things which are animated. It took a long time for me to become comfortable with flash, and still the program frustrates me. Sometimes the tweens don't work, and the program doesn't tell you why, so you have to go back and re-do it, over and over, until finally, it might work. But all things considered I think I did OK in this program once I began to understand it, and I like how the animations look once it is done.

Countdown Clock In this project we had to create a clock in which the numbers melted into one another until they counted down from five. The initial task was to have a yellow sun-like shape change from a circle into a star. But I took it a step further and had the star/circle change shape, move and change colour. I think this added an unusually interesting effect.

The Bird Scene The students were told to create an animated scene in flash using a little yellow bird. They could have him flying in loops and hoop and doing all sorts of funny things, but I just had him fly across the screen. I also added smoke to make the house look a little more real, and the background al little less static. I now appreciate animation, because I know how hard it is to get things to work out how you want them to.

Flash Banner Add The culminating task for flash was to create a banner for a program, or a cause. I picked MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) and decided to have a car spin out. Once I did this I didn't like the effect, and it looked quite dull. So I decided to create an explosion. The explosion looked interesting, and gave a cool effect, but it looks fairly fake. Due to technical difficulties I was sadly unable to add sound effects, but I would have added squealing tires and an explosion sound at the least.
